Happy new year to all! We hope you had an excellent Christmas and New Year and have not found the return to winter normality too difficult. We wish you a wonderful 2026 and trust you will find happiness and joy in the months to come.
After a year in post (!), the Congregational Librarian is delighted to welcome 2026 with … yet more boxes to unpack. Yes, we know, all our updates start the same way, but it really is the most important thing going on in the library at the moment. The Cheshunt Room is more than halfway done and we are starting to work on the pamphlet and hymn collection. Books are also starting to move up to the Carrie Room, although we’re not yet ready to put them on the shelves. We’re also starting to think about getting the first floor of the Tower ready, as it won’t be long before we start unpacking there too. Watch this space, and if you wish to use our collections, let us know so we can book you into our reading room and order your items for you. If you’re very lucky, they may already all be on site!
Our Advent Calendar on Twitter and Instagram was very popular – if you’ve discovered us through social media, welcome, and we hope to see you soon, either online or in person. We’re a friendly bunch and we’re passionate about our collection, so don’t hesitate to get in touch about anything you think we might be able to help with. As always, please also visit our website to find out more about the Library and the Congregational Memorial Hall Trust.
See you next month!
