The Congregational Library are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Librarian.
Jacqueline Reiter received a PhD in history from the University of Cambridge in 2006 and an MA in Library and Information Studies from University College London in 2009. After several years working in a number of specialist libraries, including the Legal Library at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Information Centre at the Financial Services Authority, she took a break from librarianship while her children were growing up. During that time she managed her own business as a professional editor and historical researcher, working with authors, academics, charities, and NGOs and writing for History Today, the History of Parliament, and the Cambridge History of the Napoleonic Wars. She has written articles for a variety of journals, from the English Historical Review to the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, and has written two books: a biography of John Pitt, 2nd Earl of Chatham (brother of William Pitt the Younger) and a biography of Royal Navy captain Sir Home Popham (1762–1820).
Jacqueline will start in January 2025 and will be working from the library’s new home in Westminster College.
